Is Suffering Necessary?

I caught myself complaining yesterday. I then realised that I had been complaining about the same thing for several days.

I would find myself thinking about a business problem I’m working on and repeating the same words out of my mouth to my wife. I then picked up a wonderful book called ‘The Road Less Travelled’ by M Scott Peck.

Here is what I realised.

Problems are a part of life and if it wasn’t for them we would have no depth of character. When our friends or family turn to us in times of need, what words of advice could we possibly give them?

I worked out the action I will take and then let go of my problem and with it my complaining.

Is there anything you keep complaining about to the same people?

  1. I have noticed myself complaining recently and I was shocked. I have always had a positive attitude but had failed to notice that I complain about all sorts of things. It is something I intend to work on.
